Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM)
There are many routes to becoming an Advanced Driver
Perhaps the most widely recognised is the Institute of Advanced Motorists, although there are other organisations that deliver advanced training.
The Institute of Advanced Motorists course consists of a serious of observed drives to raise the standard of your driving. During which time you will be advised how to improve on your methods
When you have reached the required standard, you will undertake a 90 minute assessment of your driving.
When you Pass, you will then be entitled to call yourself IAM Advanced Driver
As long as you do not allow your membership to lapse, you do not lose your Advanced Driver Status
Being a member of The Institute of Advanced Motorists can also reduce rocketing insurance premiums
